Radiator fitting and replacement in East Kent
New radiators, bigger radiators, radiators in a better place, or simply new valves that don’t leak. We size each radiator for the room so it actually keeps it warm, and fit it neatly with the pipework tucked away.
Radiators, done properly
A radiator that’s too small for the room will run flat out and still leave you cold. One in the wrong spot, behind a sofa or a long curtain, wastes heat you’ve paid for. We work out the heat a room needs and fit a panel radiator that suits it, whether that’s a straight swap or a new position altogether.
Moving a radiator is usually less disruptive than people expect. We plan the pipe route first, keep floorboard lifting to a minimum and make good when we’re done.
If your radiators are already the right size but heat unevenly, they might just need bleeding, balancing or, if they’re cold at the bottom, cleaning out. Our guide to cold radiators explains the difference, and we’ll always tell you if a cheaper fix will do.
- New and replacement panel radiators
- Radiators moved to a better position
- Larger or double-panel radiators for cold rooms
- Thermostatic radiator valves (TRVs) fitted or replaced
- Leaking valves and joints repaired
- Systems drained, refilled with inhibitor and balanced
- Underfloor heating as part of a renovation

When to think about radiators
One room never warms up
The radiator may be undersized for the room, or the system needs balancing.
Cold at the bottom, warm at the top
Classic sign of sludge. A powerflush, not a new radiator, is usually the fix.
Cold at the top
Air in the radiator. Bleeding it usually sorts it; see our guide.
Rust spots or weeping valves
Corroded radiators and leaking valves only get worse, and can stain carpets and floors.
Planning a refurb
New flooring or a redecorated room is the perfect time to move or upgrade radiators.
Old valves won’t turn
Seized valves make it impossible to control the heat room by room. New TRVs fix that.
How a job runs
No surprises. Here’s what happens from your first message to the finished job.
Look and measure
We look at the room, the existing radiator and the pipework, and work out the heat output the room needs.
Quote and options
You get a written quote, with options if a bigger radiator or a new position would make a real difference.
Drain down and fit
The system is drained (or the radiator isolated for a straight swap), the new radiator and valves are fitted, and pipework runs are kept neat and discreet.
Refill, bleed and balance
We refill the system, add inhibitor to protect it, bleed the air out and balance the radiators so heat reaches every room.
Tidy up
Dust sheets away, any floorboards made good, and we check every radiator is heating properly before we leave.

Radiators: your questions answered
The things people ask us most. If yours isn’t here, just message us.
Can you move a radiator to a different wall?
Yes. We plan the pipe route to keep disruption down, usually under the floor, and fit the radiator where it heats the room best. We’ll tell you at the quote if anything makes a move tricky.
My radiator valve is leaking. Can it be fixed?
Often a gland nut or olive just needs tightening or replacing; sometimes the valve itself is worn and needs changing. Put a towel down, don’t over-tighten anything, and give us a call. It’s usually a quick job.
Why is my radiator cold at the bottom?
Usually sludge (iron oxide) settling at the bottom of the radiator. Bleeding won’t help; the system needs cleaning, often with a powerflush. Our sister company Kent Powerflush specialises in exactly this.
What size radiator do I need?
It depends on the room’s size, windows, walls and how warm you like it. We calculate the heat output needed rather than guessing, so the new radiator isn’t too small or needlessly large.
Do I need to replace all my radiators with a new boiler?
Not usually. Radiators in good condition can stay. The system should be cleaned when a new boiler goes in, and any undersized or corroded radiators can be swapped at the same time.
Do you fit underfloor heating?
Yes, wet underfloor heating as part of a bathroom or room renovation, connected to your existing gas heating system.
